Who can submit a scientist proposal?
Graduate students in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) who are local to the Durham/Chapel Hill/Raleigh area are invited to submit an image from your work. This includes graduate students from Duke University, University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill, North Carolina State University, North Carolina Central University, and others in the RTP area.

Artists local to the Durham/Chapel Hill/Raleigh area are invited to submit a proposal.
When is the deadline to submit a proposal?
The deadline for both artist proposals and scientist proposals is Monday, January 21st, 2019.
When is the deadline for completed art for the 2019 exhibit?
Completed art is due by the end of March 2019. Note: art does not need to be completed at the time of proposal submission.
Do graduate student scientists have to make a piece of artwork to participate?
No. Graduate students have the option to make their own artistic work if they would like, but are not required to do so to participate. Graduate students can be paired with local artists who will make an artistic creation based on that student’s science.
How much collaboration between scientists and artists is necessary?
There can be as much or as little collaboration between the paired scientists and artists as both people would like.
